I like the 5 ways you chose. In addition to loving yourself, you need to be comfortable as your own best friend. That way, when you become socially isolated, your risk for depression is lessened.

This is something that was reinforced when, as an empty-nester, my husband decided that he wanted to be an over-the-road trucker. With the first company he worked for, he participated in the company's classroom training and on the road for training for a total of 10 weeks. I was at home alone. I had to re-learn how to be my own best friend and re-learn how to function on my own.
