This makes me smile. Some 38 years ago when I found myself newly married, moving out of my parent's into a place of our own, in a new teaching job, and pregnant; I was keeping 8 different notebooks. When I took the wrong notebook to a meeting, I vowed things had to change. I picked up a new spiral, dated it at the beginning and on the front, and labeled it "The ONE, the EVERYTHING Notebook. It contained my grocery list, notes on students, notes on meetings, notes on courses, rough drafts of notes to parents, and whatever happened during the day that I needed to remember. I have kept it that way ever since.
