You totally hit the nail on the head about people who believe they are entitled to something: the best service in a restaurant, the best sale price, the best grades.

That said, I think you have it totally wrong that it only comes from one race and one gender. As a teacher in a city of over 150,000, I saw this behavior from students (especially in required courses where all abilities were grouped together) AND the parents. I've seen it in all "genders" and all races. It just isn't a "white dude" thing.
